Ridge is a postsecondary education center that provides instruction to both adults and high school students in occupational disciplines leading to a Certificate of Completion. The training opportunities we offer will assist you in finding a place in present and future job markets. Programs are designed for students to enter at various times, progress on their own, and exit when training and specific job skills are completed. Our basic philosophy at Ridge is that students will be better prepared to enter the job market if their training closely resembles on-the-job situations. The goal of instructors is to assist students in acquiring the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to gain entry into and advance in an occupation. Therefore, each training program is based on technical knowledge which applies to the chosen occupation, performance of valid job tasks and the cultivation of healthy job related attitudes and values. Students are provided with effective learning experiences designed to help them attain relevant job competencies. Every effort is made at Ridge to assist students in reaching an informed decision about entering a career training program best suited to their individual needs and aptitudes. Students are encouraged to choose their programs after exploring their potential choices and discovering their own strengths and weaknesses, aptitudes and interests. Guidance is also available to help students succeed in their chosen program and secure employment when leaving Ridge.It is also Ridge's philosophy to accept students at the level of competency they have achieved upon entering the program and provide competencies to give them training for various jobs. At Ridge, we make it possible for each student to meet both short- and long-range employment goals. We can tailor instruction to the wide variety of student needs through our policy of open-entry and open-exit, self-paced, individualized instruction. Students enter and exit Ridge when personal employment considerations dictate. With over 25 years of experience, AAASolar Source developed a training arm to help meet the needs of the growing solar industry. As a result, Solar Source Institute (SSI) was established. SSI training teaches not only fundamentals and installation, but also covers permitting, sales & marketing, financial incentives, and more to assure the students can manage jobs from start to finish.
SSI is licensed by the Dept. of Education and is a member of the Florida Association of Post-Secondary Schools and Colleges.
SSI courses are approved for continuing education credits by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for both the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) and the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board (ECLB).
Solar Source Institute is a registered provider of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Certificate of Knowledge exam. Students who take the 40 hour Introduction to Photovoltaic Systems course will be qualified to sit for the exam. The exam fee is $100 and can be scheduled directly through AAASolar Source.
